Due to the cold nights in Clarens, which can reach -6°C, I have decided to turn off the main water supply outside flats of non-resident owners. Additionally, I open the outside taps to ensure all pipes are emptied. This precaution minimizes water damage in the event of a pipe burst.
I implemented this measure after experiencing a significant leak, which only became apparent when water started pouring from the ceiling. I had to run under freezing water to shut off the supply—a most unpleasant experience. Your understanding is appreciated.
